Hi everyone!
I'm assuming you came to this page from the homepage of my website, Collaborating with Culture, and I am so glad you are here. Not just here on this blog post, but here in the world amidst a pandemic and an overall craaaazzzyy year.
I am so proud of you. Please accept this GIF as a token of my appreciation.
Now let me tell you a little bit about who I am and what this page is about.
My name is Muskaan Makkar, and I am Miss Dorchester County Teen! This means that I have a really cool job: I am a local titleholder of the Miss South Carolina Organization (MSCO), which is a state branch (guess which state) of the Miss America Organization (MAO). MAO is the largest provider of scholarships for American women, and I am so grateful to be a part of it!
The Miss Green Wave/ Dorchester County Organization is my local branch, and I might be biased, but I think it is the best local branch ever ;) The cover photo (and the photo below) of this blog was actually taken on our crowning day! It features (left to right) Ansley Cook- Miss Green Wave Teen, Maddi Gorrell- Miss Green Wave, Joshlyn Robinson- Miss Dorchester County, and me! :P

I will occasionally make blog posts on the Miss Green Wave/ Dorchester County Organization, MSCO, and MAO because I want to emphasize how IMPORTANT these organizations are to me!
Beyond being a titleholder, though, I am a senior at Ashley Ridge High School (Go Foxes!) and anxiously completing college applications right now. I love to sing, dance, and write letters (it's a timeless craft).
So what will my blog posts entail? Let me break it down for you by presenting several options of what I will discuss.
My platform, "CulturALL," and the community service projects related to it.
Current events regarding social justice, like the Black Lives Matter movement and the Indian Farmer protests (there may also be little sections on these issues on the home page of the website). I will give the facts and my input on the issue, along with donation links and solutions.
Role models! These are the people I look up to because of their advancements in diversity and representation (hence, the platform CulturALL). If I'm lucky, I'll even get to interview them :) And speaking of interviews, have you all seen my VIDEO interview with Shivali Kadam? It's on the home page, just scroll down to videos. There will also be a blog post on it coming soon.
And as aforementioned, the Miss America Organization and its state and local branches.
More topics! 2020 has taught me to truly go with the flow, and that is what I will be doing in the new year as well! There might be wildcard posts depending on what i eel needs to be addressed, or what you readers want to see. Speaking of which...
On the HOMEPAGE of this website, if you scroll ALLL the way down, you will see a Contact form. If you have any suggestions what I should write about on this blog, send them to me! I want to know what YOU want to read. Do you want me to spotlight a specific role model/ Talk about a certain issue? Tell me! You can also use this form to schedule interviews, sponsorships, any questions you may have, etc.
Right above it, you will find access to my Instagram page. I am @missdorchestercountyteen on both Instagram and Facebook.
Well, that's all for now! Stay tuned for my (hopefully) weekly blog posts! Sending so much love to everyone, and have a very happy New Year <3
