ABOUT MUSKAAN
Muskaan Makkar knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. That is why when Muskaan won the title of Miss Dorchester County Teen, she made it a mission to share her values regarding diversity and equality of different cultures through her platform "CulturALL" which focuses on education and collaboration to eradicate ignorance. Through videos, stories, interviews, webinars, photographs, and discussion, Muskaan's service project "Collaboration with Culture" aims to bring the world one step closer to acceptance and equality.

COLLABORATION WITH CULTURE
A Miss Dorchester County Teen 2020 Service Project: "Cultur-ALL"

COLLABORATION WITH KHALSA AID
COVID-19 Grocery Deliveries
Khalsa Aid is an international NGO with the aim to provide humanitarian aid in disaster areas and civil conflict zones around the world. The organization is based upon the Sikh principle of "Recognise the whole human race as one." Khalsa Aid created a COVID-19 relief project and delivered groceries, meals, and medicine for free worldwide. As an official Khalsa Aid volunteer and team leader for the state of South Carolina, Muskaan delivered groceries and essentials for those in quarantine or economic strain.

COLLABORATION WITH THE YOUTH
2019 School Visits
The youth is a community of its own. Kids and teens alike, the youth has a special voice that demands attention.
Muskaan visited various elementary schools and spoke to all ages about kindness and diversity in a school environment. Through interactive activities such as storytelling, verbal games, Muskaan not only taught the children about the necessity of equality, but she learned a thing or two about humanity herself.
Never underestimate the power of the youth. Never ignore a child's intellect because of their age. Children have the ability to accomplish anything they put their minds to.
COLLABORATION WITH MISS URBANA
Nationwide Webinar
Muskaan had the opportunity to work with the Miss Urbana Organization (Maryland), and I presented a Women of Color Representation webinar on Zoom. This webinar prompted an open-ended discussion on allyship and lack of WOC representation with young women all over the nation. Sending a huge thank you to the Miss Urbana Organization for this platform! Check out their Facebook page
